Tough night last night. The pain of bedrest is now starting to catch up, and Abby's hips and back are generating an extreme amount of pain. This combined with the ongoing bowel issues had Abby in what looked to be painfull contractions every 15 mins from 10:00 pm til 2:00 am. A morphine/gravol cocktail finally calmed everything down, and she got some sleep until about 8:30 this morning. We tried to stay off the morphine today, but the pain started up again, and at 1:00pm we took another shot of morphine, and Abby is now relaxing a bit. We also got what seems to be a very fancy airmattress in to cushion her hips and joint pain. That also seems to be helping a great deal.
We did a short ultrasound this morning just to see how the babies were oriented. Video of a portion of it is below. If you turn up the volume, you can hear some commentary from the doctor on what you are looking at. Otherwise it can be pretty hard to discern what you are seeing. It starts with the girl, shot from behind, then moves over to both heads from the top, then a long body shot of the boy.
Abby's friend Linda also stopped in and grabbed some laundry for us, which was a godsend. She also dropped off some more movies, magazines and books, so we have lots more to do, while we lie here doing nothing.
