A Christmas Present

We got 1/2 our perfect Christmas, as Dillon finally came come on Sunday, Dec 23rd. His due date was Dec 22nd, so after 4 months in the hospital, and what seems like a million scary moments, he ended up at home just one day late.

Here he is in his bed at home. There were many points along this journey when we thought we would never see this.

Here he is just arriving at home. with his cousin Joshua.

Dressed up for ChristmasBack in the hospital visiting Madeleine

Madeleine, wide awake as usual..
Now we are just waiting for Madeleine. She has been feeding better for the last few days, and with a little luck, we will have her home before the new year. Sam arrives tomorrow, so we might have all 3 of them! What an amazing way to start 2008!

As we wind down this amazing journey, we both wanted to thank all of you for your generous outpouring of support. Your comments on this blog got us through some pretty dark times, and I still well up every time I re-read it from the beginning.

Stay tuned for the update on Madeleine..

Hi Darlin's

WOW!!! Just about a perfect Christmas for the Rivers family!
Ya know, considering the onset of this journey, I think we'll all agree that it's more perfect than we dared to hope for!
Dillon, you are so welcomed into this big world, and what a little gentleman to pave the way for his little sister! You'll have Mom and Dad all broken in by the time Madeleine comes home.
I am just so damn happy for you guys that there just aren't any words to express it.
I'm sure Madeleine will be home very soon and your beautiful little family will be complete and Sam can enjoy being a big brother.
Bless you all.
With all my love, Lil XOX

Hi Abby & David,

I've just looked at the blog & it's wonderful to see the pictures of Dillon at home, he looks beautiful & the surroundings really suit him!

I'm glad Madeleine's feeding is sorting itself out (she's looking so pretty & cute) you'll be the perfct family once she's home. They're both so lucky to have such a special couple as parents.

I'm sure you've had a really lovely Christmas, we thought of you often, the New year can only get better & better. So we wish you all the joy & happiness the year will bring.

Much love & hugs to you all.

What a nice Christmas present for you guys to have and how ironic it was one day after their due date. Have a wonderful start to 2008 with all of your little ones at home with you.

All the best to all of you

Congratualtions!!!

I cannot believe everything that has happened since I met the two of you not even a year ago...

I am so happy that you've all made it through this incredible part of the journey, having the two twins at home will seem easy compared to the last few months, maybe that was the plan all along!

It's so wonderful to see Dillon in his bed at home, I cannot wait to see Madeline there with him! I cannot imagine the excitement and joy you will feel to begin the new year with your whole family cuddled around you.

Have the happiest New Year ever!

Sue and Aaron
