Another good day with babies. They are both gaining weight. Madeleine is now at 1lb 13oz and Dillon is a positively chunky 2lb 10 oz. There is a very noticeable size difference between them now. They were a little fussy yesterday, but we held them both today and they were very calm. I held Dillon and Abby held Madeleine. Tomorrow we'll switch it. We are now working on getting Madeleine's weight up, so her feed levels are increasing, and they are adding a fortifier to her milk. Both are on better oxygen levels (eg requiring less supplemental oxygen.) Regular air that we all breath is 21% oxygen and they were both in the high 30%'s for oxygen feeds today. 2 days ago they were both in the 50%'s. Once they are weaned to 21%, it is considered a development milestone.
We have been talking to more folks about how the process works to get the babies back home to Vancouver, but that is not looking so good. BC children's, which has an ICU that is half the size of the one here, is telling Edmonton that they are not accepting any level 3 or level 2 care babies. We are in level 3 care (highest), and are not due to be at level 2 care for several more weeks. If we have to get off level 2 care before we can come back, it is likely we will actually be discharged from here before BC takes us back. So.... we are not likely to be home soon.
Here's a few more pics...
Abby changing Madeleine's diaper.
Dillon sleeping just like his Dad and older brother Sam, with his hands behind his head.
A big yawn........

Hello Darlin's
So glad I checked in again before shutting off the computer!
Other than the crappy news re coming home, things just sound better and better everyday!
I'm just amazed at the progress that those tiny little souls are making!
Abby, you look wonderful!!!!
Being a MOM obviously agrees with you (as we knew it would)!
I hope the two of you are getting some down time to just enjoy each other a little bit. I'd hate to see the constant pressure that you're under everyday take away from the wonder and joy of those miracle babies.
Please kiss them and each other for me.
Til tomorrow.
Much Love, Lil XOX
