Sunday Afternoon

Some further setbacks today. Dillon has been re-intubated on the respirator as of 3:30 this morning, as he was having ongoing problems with his breathing. He is happier now, but it will set back his lung development. Madeleine is still showing a lot of fluid in her chest, and her blood tests continue to show that her lungs are not developing. She is back on morphine to calm her down, and she continues to fight her tubes. She is doing very little breathing on her own now, as the respirator is doing most of it for her. They have dropped her morphine down to half this afternoon in the hopes it will make her relaxed enough to work on her own breathing.

Abby is doing better today, but is still very weak. She cannot walk for more than a few minutes, and that exhausts her to the point of having to sleep or lie down for a few hours to recover. As you all might guess.. Abby is NOT happy with this, and is growing frustrated at the slow pace of healing. The daily regiment of medication continues for her as well. Here's what she has to take every day!

She slept for a few hours this afternoon while I caught up on some work. She's up now, so its off to see the babies again, and then some dinner.

From talking to a few folks today, it looks like we missed quite the party at Linda's last night. Sorry we could not be there for Michelle's going away, it sounds like everyone had a really good time. We will make up for it when we return! :-)

Bore Da! Wish we could be there just to lend support as you all mend. It sounds like yesterday was pretty tough and I hope that this morning brings a better day. Sending lots of love and strength your way.

As you know, we are thinking of you all over here in Scotland - sorry we haven'nt been able to speak in person, it's not as you know for lack of trying but can appreciate that there are more important things to deal with. Mike has kept us well informed otherwise. We leave Edinburgh tomorrow nad head back to south (sunny) England. Home on the 28th so will look forward to seeing all four of you soon. We're thinking of you daily - lots of love and kisses Car and Geoff xoxo

Hi guys. We are all still thinking of you daily. Your dogs are fine and getting lots of exercise. We are getting a couple more daycare dogs, yay! Still no hot water here but all of our problems are nothing compared to the challenges of little M & D, so you just keep focused on them and getting them healthy.
